Wendy’s community of influence spans far outside the Town of Queen Creek. She is known for her achievement, locally, statewide and nationally which gives her the opportunity to influence a greater number of people and be a role model to others who want to follow in her footsteps.

Wendy served on the Queen Creek Town Council (as Council Member, Vice Mayor and Mayor) since the Town’s infancy. One can imagine the daunting task before the early organizers of a little town that had to scramble to establish its unique character in time to stay ahead of the onrush of development.    Wendy was successful in keeping the heritage of Queen Creek alive while growing at a pace that will take the town from the modest 4,000 residents when she joined the Council to an expected population of 90,000 in 20 years. As Mayor of the Town of Queen Creek, Wendy raised the standard for all citizen leaders. Her passion was to provide opportunities for all individual citizens to get involved in civic processes, become more informed regarding community issues, commit to improving lives, and take responsibility for shaping their own community. Wendy instituted several programs that aimed to reach out to build community and forge networks between people of different backgrounds.
